Stage Front Equips Emergency Operations Center

| When the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC decided to build an emergency operations center, they had a tall order to fill. During hurricane season the weather over the Air Station can change rapidly, and with dozens of military aircraft taking off every hour, there was a lot at stake. The EOC would also be used as an interface with the Beaufort County emergency operations center. They wanted to show 14 video and audio sources including 7 PCs, 2 laptops, a VTC system, a military distributed camera feed, a camera feed from Beaufort County, and other signals at various resolutions on 6 display devices including a projector, 4 45” plasma monitors and a touch panel, and they need them to switch independently of one another. |

On top of that, they also needed it to function intuitively since they were expecting to host various operators, some of whom would not be familiar with the system. SFPS was able to design a system that switches all 14 sources to all 6 displays at high resolution - independently or all together. Operator control is via a touch panel configured as a separate display, so the video from any one source can be previewed before it’s sent to the plasmas or projector. The touch panel is laid out so that all the operator has to do is select the video/audio source, then select one or more display devices for routing. |
| Another recent military application required complex, yet rugged, portable display systems for deployment in command control tents for overseas combat arenas. SFPS packaged several systems to allow field commanders the kind of on-the-spot information to help them make critical field decisions. |
